I created HouseHop because I needed it!
As a co-parent, I realized that the hardest part isn't just the two homes—it's the mental weight of everything in between. Kids shouldn't have to carry the burden of forgotten items, and parents shouldn't have to manage it alone.
What started as a solution for my own family became something that could help so many others navigating life between two homes.
Because it shouldn’t feel this hard to stay organized.
- Helping kids add their own needs and wants as they think of them.
- Tracking essential items across homes so nothing gets left behind.
- Easing the mental load to keep parents focused on their kids, not logistics.
How HouseHop Came to Life
HouseHop didn't start as a business idea—it started as a real-life need. Every week felt like a constant mental checklist: What do the kids need for the weekend? What activities do they have? What can’t be forgotten this time? It wasn’t just packing—it was remembering everything that comes with living between two homes.
One day, standing in the shower, I found myself running through it all again: Cleats for practice. A birthday gift for a friend. Making sure the right clothes made it to the right house. And remembering to text a link to the correct feminine hygiene products to my co-parent so my daughter would have what she needed the following weekend.
At the same time, my phone was constantly filling up with texts: “I need new shoes” “Can you order this?” “Can I have these?” (link attached). The links got buried. The lists got lost. And somehow, it all landed on me to keep track of everything. It was overwhelming—and it was constant.
That’s when it clicked: There had to be a better way to keep everything organized—and shared.
